About Eryca

Eryca’s music takes you on a journey through life: from laughter to love, to loss, to faith, and perseverance. Music is a way of life for Eryca, who has been performing since the age of 6 with her parents at churches and other venues.

Inspired by her father, who plays multiple instruments, Eryca took up the violin at age 8 and began teaching herself to play the guitar at age 16, which eventually enabled her to start performing independently.

As a teenager, Eryca used songwriting to work through her feelings and express herself in a way that she could not have done otherwise. “Music has always been my way of working through the unpredictability of life and my outlet to express my joy at the constant presence of God’s love,” says Eryca when asked about what inspires her to write.

I love how music can reach so much deeper than words, it can touch a common chord in each person and allow them to see through the eyes of another

In 1998 Eryca performed for an audience of over 1,000 in an evangelism campaign that was also broadcast to 60 countries. She continued performing through college and in 2001 debuted her first major release entitled Unbroken. To date she still holds the record for bringing in the largest audience (300+) at the Box Factory For The Arts in St. Joseph MI when her band Willow performed there in 2004. In 2010 Eryca performed with her band 5 For Grace, for an audience of 500+ at a church campmeeting held in Edmore MI.

After taking a few years off to focus on her family, Eryca has decided it is time to dust off her musical ambition and continue to share her love for music and song writing.
Often compared to Jewel, Allison Krause, and Laura Story, Eryca’s music strikes a familiar chord with listeners while being uniquely her own. I have been inspired by so many styles of music from bluegrass to classical, from artists like Sarah McLachlan to the fiddle styles of Natalie MacMaster.
